Dog Memorial Page

dog-memorial

Our online dog memorial is to serve as a place to honor our best friends who have passed away. You may tell a story, or dedicate a poem in their memory. This is a virtual memorial for dogs that have touched our lives in one way or another.

As dog lovers, we look to our canine companions for friendship, loyalty, love, amusement, comfort, and, at times, protection. These qualities, when listed, can easily be compared with what one looks for in a family member. In fact, to most of us, our playful pooches are extremely important parts of our family.

Something else to remember about dogs: they have the purest of hearts. Forgiving and faithful, pups are a lot like children in the way they remain so innocently and purely devoted to their families. Dogs come into this world already knowing what it is to love someone completely. Perhaps it is in large part due to this inherent ability that dogs don't require 80-something years on this Earth to grow and mature and, seemingly too soon, pass on.

For their families, the loss of a dog can bring about a mix of emotions. Sometimes, when there has been prolonged sickness, a sense of relief and peace can accompany the sadness one feels. Other times, a tragic event can leave us feeling a profound sense of devastation. No matter what we feel after the passing of a canine companion, however, there will always be joy in the memories we have of our loving friends.

My goal for this page is to provide a place where people can congregate to honor their beloved pups, reveal their joyous memories, and begin a healing process by sharing with others in a community of common experiences.
