Remembering Melroy

Melroy
Melroy was a Christmas gift from Santa Claus to our son in 2000. He passed away on April 20th 2010. Ironically, our son named the dog after a video that he had watched called "Santa's Misfit Pup". In that video, the dog's name was actually Milroy, but our son pronounced it Melroy. The ironic part is that Melroy would become a very lovable misfit.
Melroy always enjoyed getting in front of your feet, unlike any dog that I've ever been around. He was also very protective. He would definitely let you know with his ferocious barking if there were any "boogers"(strangers) in the house. He also did not approve of children running around our swimming pool and would bark and try to nip at their ankles, as if to say, "that's not safe".
He was also a very affectionate dog. He'd sleep on the blanket at the foot of our bed. When he knew it was time to wake up, he'd start licking my forehead. We never quite figured out why, but he was certainly a loyal and loving dog.
Melroy, you were a character. We'll miss you boy!
