Assets: Dynamic personality, healthy, loves to work, enthusiastic, loves people, food and praise driven, easy to train, loves to learn, outgoing, fast learner (at times in seconds), reliable, confident, anyone can work with him, knows hand and voice commands, he is at home anywhere, friendly, happy and loves attention. He is not afraid of anything and he is comfortable with and accustomed to loud music, noise, strobe/spotlights/lighting, booms, cameras, applause and large audiences/crouds. He has had a tremendous amount of diverse experiences so nothing distracts or fazes him. He is curious, gentle, highly intelligent, playful, expressive and his color pops in all situations (on stage/on camera/in photos/indoors/outdoors). He is a true professional, the love of my life, my inspiration and my reason for being.
Accomplishments: October, 2007 - 2007 BET Hip Hop Awards - Atlanta, Georgia - Hatty was asked to perform on a live awards show with the host. Performed on live television, in front of a large, live audience with strobe and spotlights, loud music, pyrotechnics, a moving set….did it like a super star!
October 2, 2005 - AKC Championship - Kennewick, WA - Hatteras earned the title of AKC Champion - He is a natural show dog. He beat out many dogs, earned points and was seen by many judges, who determined he is a great example of the breed in structure, movement and temperament.
September, 2004 - Present - Yakima, WA - HattyCakes BakersMan started agility classes and is the top student. He continually beats the German Sheppard Dogs, Labrador Retrievers, Cockers Spaniels, Shetland Sheep dogs and boxers in his class!
April, 2008 - Petco Chihuahua Races - Kirkland, WA - Hattycakes beat out hundreds of Chihuahua’s in the (Golden Ticket) spirit award contest. He was handpicked to participate and won with flying colors with the audience's vote. He took third in his heat, but was distracted by all the sexy ladies running next to him.
January 10, 2009 - Cesar Milan Rescue Fundraiser - Seattle, WA-
Hatty participated in a wonderful charity/rescue fundraiser event hosted by the “Dog Whisperer” - Cesar Milan and American Idol star Blake Lewis. Mr. Milan wanted to meet, take photos and hold Hatteras and did so for well over an hour. They made a great team. Cesar Milan said he is extremely impressed with him, his abilities and talent. So much that, Mr. Milan is interested in doing a story on Hatteras. The Dog Whisperer met the Human Whisperer…Hatteras!
January 11th, 2009 - Next Dog Star - Seattle, WA - HattyCakes BakersMan performed a complicated act and tricks in front of the judges and the audience to compete in the “Next Dog Star”. He is one of the finalists! (yet to be determined as they must go to 7 other big cities in the months to come). The judges and audience were blown away by his talent and laughed hysterically at some of his most unique tricks and enthusiastic personality. The judges commented that Hatteras was MORE THAN READY to work and they were amazed on his abilities and personality.
January 9, 2003 - Present - Breaking hearts and taking names - World Wide - Hatteras excels with everything he does. I have been told countless times that he is a truly unique and special dog. His zest and enthusiasm for life is undeniable. The best part is that he loves life and will do anything and everything… without hesitation. I take that back….. The best part is that he is in my life! I am the luckiest human in the world!
April 25th, 2009 - America’s Got Talent - Tacoma, WA - Hatteras tried out for the show and they loved him! He made it through to the main producer, in which Hatty had him laughing and amazed! After 12 hours of waiting, he performed like a true professional, with contagious enthusiasm throughout the advancements, all the way up to the producer.
May 30th, 2009 - AMERI-CANINE IDOL 2009 - Kennewick, WA - Hatteras competed in many competitions (most tricks in 30 seconds, most unique trick, etc.) and easily swept the competition to win the title of AMERI-CANINE IDOL 2009! He performed his talents in 100 degree weather, without any preparation and beat out numerous other dogs, like a true superstar! Hatteras is the 2009 AMERI-CANINE IDOL!!!
November 29th 2009 - Met Governor Sarah Palin - Hatteras was a hit and received the title of Sarah Palin approved! Mrs. Palin absolutely could not stop saying what a wonderful and talented dog Hatty is! Her entire family was very impressed and could stop talking about him!
March 1st 2010 - America's Got Talent - Hatteras auditioned for America's Got Talent and all the producers absolutely loved him, his special skills and talents. They wanted us to use all of our Chihuahua's in a brand new act. We came home, put it together, made the props and filmed it. They loved it and booked us on the show!
March 18th 2010 - America's Got Talent - Out of over 700,000 acts that tried out in big cities across America, they picked only 300 acts...and we are one of them! Hatteras did a great job, worked the enormous audience and made everyone he encountered fall in love with him! What dog can say they have a 1 in 300 chance of winning a million dollars and receive a one year contract for a show in Las Vegas? HattyCakes BakersMan can!
Extra Special Talent: Service/Helping/Alert dog. HattyCakes can detect when I am hypoglycemic and will alert me through verbal and tactile responses. He is truly a tiny-tater-tot-angel! He comforts the elderly and ill children in hospitals and nursing homes. He uses his outgoing personality to help educate the public on responsible pet ownership.
