Welcome to the Dog Breed Dictionary!Hi, my name is Garett, and I would like to welcome you to the dog breed dictionary. I just made the "Hybrid" one up because I love mutts and would like to include them in the dictionary. If that word hurts your feelings, I guess I could call them mixed breeds! Being a pet parent, I know that choosing a dog breed can be a difficult decision to make. I can't make the decision for you, but I certainly can do my best to help you make an educated, and informed decision. Oh, who am I kidding, you are just here for the pictures! We have lots of dog pictures as well as dog videos! Be sure to check out and enter our monthly dog picture contest! Enjoy your stay! P.S. Pet adoption really is an awesome thing that I would strongly encourage. Some of the sweetest pets I've ever come across were rescued from shelters, like those run by the SPCA. It is a common misconception that all stray dogs are mutts. There are a lot of pure bred dogs that are in need of a good home. All you have to do is pick up the phone and call your nearest pet rescue to figure that one out. Shelter and rescue dogs go through an extensive evaluation period to see if they are suitable for adoption. They are tested for food aggression, dog aggression, and how friendly they are with children among other metrics. Pet adoption is a fairly efficient way to find a well balanced family dog. |
